The Oldest Pineapple Advertisement

Probably the oldest advertisement for pineapple product available online is in The Star newspapers form Cantenbury region from 5th January 1880.

The ananas advertisement:
WANTED KNOWN — That syrups,
vinegars, cordials, and drinks of all
kinds, aërated and non-aërated, such as cider,
lemon, raspberry, strawberry, pineapple,
currant, ginger, &c., &c., manufactured on
the American principle, which is so univer-
sally approved of, and for which seven prize
medals have been awarded, may be had of
J. P., Oliver and Co. P.S.— Shopkeepers, pic-
nic and school parties liberally dealt with.
